Child Development Lab

Research and Photographic Permission

One of the functions of the Child Development Laboratory is to provide a research population for the School of Family, Consumer, and Nutrition Sciences, particularly in the family and child studies area.

You will be expected to sign a general release for your child's involvement in observations and general research investigations and will be informed in advance of any research projects to be conducted in the program.

From time to time, requests to photograph children at work/play are received from students in an NIU photography class, a newspaper, or other publication. In order to comply with these requests, we ask that you sign the release request on your child's registration form. The director evaluates every request before granting release of photographs.
